Clarisonic Mia - John Lewis (£120.00)

Ever in the quest of perfect skin, just before Christmas i was horrendously naughty and splurged on a Clarisonic. A Clarrrawhat asked my bemused father? A Clarisonic is essentially six to eight electric toothbrushes stuck together for your face. And a pricey one at that. With our American cousins going crazy for them across the pond, highly recommended by their snazzy dermatologists, i had to be in the know - and more importantly i had to have one.

Being rather on the pricey side at £120, the Clarisonic Mia essentially deep cleans your face, albeit a bit like a car wash or fancy flannel. Its brush head vibrates a rather impressive 300 movements a second, gently but throughly removing up to six times more make-up than it would just normally washing with your fingers. Impressive much? It also helps to improve the appearance of the skin, becoming smoother and softer, and more importantly spot free.

After a lot of ummming and ahhhing, lots of review reading and weighting up pros and cons to uninterested brother, i bit the bullet and ordered one. I purchased mine through a US seller on Amazon for a bargainous £80, alas he has clearly realised what a fool he was and now upped the price unfortunately. However, they are available readily on the high-street (check out ASOS with student discount!) from John Lewis to Space NK. It finally made its way into my beloved arms and i set about using it, after its first usage i instantly felt my skin was instantly softer and smoother, a result i had been unable to achieve with any other exfoliator. Another benefit i realised was how my skin suddenly drunk up any moisturiser, it absorbed better and allowed better results from any products i applied.

However, wiping off the dead skin cells and deep cleaning my skin started the purging stage. A polite way of saying 'getting bloody spotty', the grime and gunk was currently working its way out of the skin. Lovely to know, but horrendous to see. A few weeks on i'm still battling with a few blighters, nothing too serious to ever let my regret my purchase. For the way my skin feels now, i can tell the results will only get better in the future. I have rapidly seen the deep clogged pores looking more faded and small pimples under the skin have vanished.

I found out the best way to use my Clarisonic is to pre-wash my make-up off with any face wash, then pump a pea size amount of my normal cleanser (Clinique Foaming Wash-off Cleanser) on to the brush head and work around my face. The cleanser lathers up well, while the Clarisonic struts it's stuff for the timed minute, then automatically switches off. I tend to concentrate the brush head around more troublesome areas such as my nose, chine and forehead rather than my cheeks of which are pretty clear. Another big decider in the buying decision is that the Clarisonic is completely waterproof, meaning i can use it within the shower without the worry of electrocuting oneself.

Overall i'm really pleased with my purchase and i do really see what all the fuss is about. I can't sing from the roof tops and shout 'i'm spot free people!' Because honestly its to early to see, and i'm not that spotty to start with really, and we all get the pesky tail tale signs of that time of the month. What i am delighted to see, is a bright and incredibly soft complextion that makes make-up application a dream! I dare say its also rather nice to know that every single spec of make-up is being completely, and utterly jet washed off my mug every night. The perfect lazy girl's tool to face washing.

Despite owning a rather sizeable stash of eyeshadow, when push comes to the shove i'm pretty clueless when it comes to application. Since purchasing both Urban Decay Palettes (although the second one has major gone unloved - due to guilt of not nearly using the first as much as i should have) i've definitely become more adventurous in using more than one shade, hello definition in the crease! How very technical of me. However most of the time i result to a quick wash of colour on the lids, add a little liner into the mix, with lashings of mascara and we are good to go. One shade i've come to religiously love and use is the infamous cult beauty buy: Kitten by Stila, and its golden sister Oasis.

Oasis & Kitten - Boots (£12.00 each)

Stila, the all American beauty brand once graced our English shores a few years backs where it was quite a hit, but since fading out it came back with a vengeance just before Christmas. I pondered into Boots in awe of the very famous Kitten, to see quite frankly what the fuss was all about. Constantly raved about, this shimmery champagne shade is a winner with all skin tones, with a hint of warm pink its become that standard neutral shade, worthy of a spot in any girl's make up bag. I accidentally purchased Oasis, how similar do they look in pan format? On closer inspection at home i realised that Oasis is a beautiful gold toned shadow. Both shadows are incredibly pigmented, its texture is pretty much unbeatable. I find Mac eyeshadows to be quite hard in the pan, Urban Dacay's shadows are soft and easy to pick up, yet with bad fall out. Stila, however is that of butter, so soft to the touch and one swipe of a brush it easily picks up enough product.

I definitely recommend giving these a swatch when your next in Boots, i cannot wait to try out the Stila brand further!

With January being the most frugal month ever to date and my Chanel fund looking somewhat promising (well..) i can confirm i am feeling the need for some serious retail therapy. Whilst i may have not been literally filling up with wardrobe with the delights of the new S/S hight-street arrivals, i've certainly been trolly dashing the online basket to the extremes. Who knew window shopping could be so fun? Alas, with payday coming at the end of a very long week, and the white slush appearing very unsightly, lets cross our fingers and step into spring..

I'm quite frankly sick of the weather, and will not dare to post about the unsightly scene out of my window. As much as i love winter, i'm definitely longing for summer days and warm evenings. Yes, i grasp the fact that we are in-deed very lucky if we are blessed with more than a weeks worth of sunshine in good old British fashion, but that doesn't put an end to my hopefulness of some sunshine. This may be party due to the fact that i was kindly invited to Next's S/S press day on Tuesday. Next is a brand i associate with cute pumps (no really, their range of ballet flats is rather impressive) and bikinis that do gracious things with rather ample assets. I was keen to pop along and see what they had in mind for the sunny season.

Moving swiftly past some very olympic GB inspired pieces, their range has some utter gems that i will sure to be hunting out come next season. I completely zoned into the delicate feminine pastel pieces (as per usual) and was delighted to see a beautiful embellished blouse that came in both a blush shade and a very, very cool mint. I need to jump on this mint bandwagon for S/S. Also in the range were some very dainty brodie anglias sleeve-less blouses that evoked my inner Mad Men Betty, a very fine knitted jumper with a shot of sparkle (perfect with tailored shorts and a tan!) and some terribly pretty knickers and bra sets (i need to investigate their under ware department more throughly in future). Another big trend i saw was the Versace chain print silk thing going on, not my style personally, but it looks set to be pretty big next season and Next have whipped out some fab designs including this marmite print.

How delicate is this pearl and lace clutch? As soon as i spied this i knew i needed to definitely put this on my watch list!

In the showroom there was a pop-up Cath Kitson-esk printed caravan, i'm telling you ladies, camping never seemed so appealing before. Inside it was piled high with the most beautiful homeware pieces i have spied, i was smitten with everything. From cushions and throws galore, floral bedding and pillows, daintily trinklets and cake stands - i could of moved in. I never thought to look in Next for homeware but i was pleasantly surprised.

A few tidbits i was gifted with, god - i want summer.

What are your thoughts on Next?

Just to warn you and prep you for whats coming, i haven't been shopping in well over a month as i've been busy saving (Chanel fund ladies) and selling most of my un-wanted items on ebay (thank you again for all your tips!) - but in the mean time i've been stashing a viral lust-list of all the beautiful Spring/Summer bits and bobs i've spied online - so brace yourself (and your purses) for some serious lusting.

This was my outfit for last nights fabulous rendezvous which was the infamous mass bloggers meet-up, for the launch for Rockalilly's new lipstick, ZOMG - a bright pack 'a punch fuchsia. I had the pleasure of dining with some of my favourite blogging ladies at a lovely little restaurant Vapianos just off Oxford Street, where we had the most delicious made-on-the-spot pizza (for just over six pounds people!) seriously recommend. Then we hop-footed over to the event where we swatched lipsticks, witnessed Michelle eating a good thousand cupcakes and swoon over burlesque dancer Banbury Cross, my new girl crush. I've watched Ree's Lippie venture grow over the past year and a bit and i'm seriously chuffed for her, i met her a few months back and she is an absolute delight. Did you know she used to be a teacher? Now that, ladies, is one jaw-stopping career change, from children to lipstick, pretty lipstick at that.

Quick question, did anyone find my hair tutorial major confusing in my last post? After re-reading i think i seriously baffled you with calling a section of hair Frank.

Over the past few weeks i've been completely inspired to change up my hair styles, its so easy to fall in to a rut of just wearing it in the same style daily - which is fine, just maybe tad boring? Reading all the new Spring/Summer editorials in all my favourite monthly magazines always inspires me to create romantic, girlie tresses that are easy to wear in the summer. As you may have seen in my last post, i've recently been loving tonging large curls throughout my now-long locks, wearing the uber-glam look. But admittedly i do have a rather pesky side sweeping fringe, that looks fabulous when spent primping with the ultimate blow dry but not when its for everyday wear, so i decided to give this braid a whirl...

Sadly, i wasn't quite as gifted in the hair stakes as the model above. With much finer hair i decided on one main braid, running through on a side parting. Its completely fool-proof, perfectly pretty and takes no time at all. Also a winner for short-haired and long-haired ladies alike.

After deciding that just a step by step written instruction to this braid would not only confuse the living day lights out of you, as well as me, i decided to film a rather naff diy video for your viewing pleasure, please click the weird star shape in the grey bar and change to 720dp for better picture.

Simply split the front section into two parts, wrap one part (the smaller if fringe) around the section two (which we shall call, for the easy understanding if this tutorial, Frank), and then pull section one to the front. Select another piece of hair further along, like a french plait, and twist around Frank, then pull to front. Repeat this step again, pulling another part of hair and twisting around Frank. Then i like to take Frank alongside another piece of hair and twist continuously to form a braid, then secure with a hair bobble.

I really hope this makes sense, otherwise i apologise sincerely. It really is easy once you get the hang of it, and you don't specifically need a mirror to do so. A great hair style to adopt if you are lucky enough to be on holiday (jammy cow) or your growing out a fringe - or lazy like me. Depending on my mood i tong the remainder of my hair to add some volume but thats completely up to your preference.

Another little note to add, i spied some hair style tutorials created by John Frieda recently on their You Tube channel recently that i've been watching like a hawk. There are somethings that should be left to the professionals, but heck, i'm definitely trying this.

Out of nowhere i've developed a head cold, so instead of moping about i decided to scrub every inch of one's self and pamper; failing miserably to disguise my very red nose. I decided to whip out a bunch of Liz Earle products i treated myself with some Christmas money, which is very naughty as i usually save it! I had long heard about Liz Earle before it exploded within the digital press from my manager at work, of whom i share a very bad addiction to skin care with. She kindly let me borrow a sample or two, and i was then on was hooked on the Liz Earle shampoo and conditioner. For a long time i had been really wanting to trial some of the collection favourites, especially the mask & exfoliator, finally i bit the bullet to ordered a set from QVC. I think the products are pretty legendary in terms of quality, but like most high-end brands there are always cheaper greater alternatives. So if your happy with your own routine, don't fall into the hype and spurge on the entire range (like me - hah), but try bits and bobs at a time.

I did my research prior to buying, listing the main items i wanted to trail. The best offers i found were on QVC, but you do miss the rather lovely packaging and mini sample that you get when ordering from Liz Earle website direct. The set i purchased has since sold through, but if you were looking to stock up on favourites QVC do some fantastic bumper deals, or like me this set of miniatures is a fab way of testing a bit of everything for under £45!

First up is the infamous Cleanse and Polish, the iconic Liz Earle product thats racked up a fair few awards and a loyal fan base. You apply the thick herbal scented cleanser over dry skin, then wash away with a warm wet muslin cloth, which exfoliates and removes make-up/grime at the same time. My thoughts? I love the concept and product, but personally i can't be assed. I prefer to use a foaming wash in the shower in the evening, not spend ages smearing mascara all over my face. I do however, think this is the perfect product for a morning cleanse. Since taking up jogging (!) in the morning, i use this to wash off all the grime (and sweat), ready for make-up application. Its super quick and easy, perfect for drunk make-up removal too. Massive brownie points.

The Skin Tonic is essentially a toner, a product that ladies know they should use, but haven't actually got a clue why. A quick swipe of this in the morning or evening, after cleansing, ensures that there is no cleanser or product left on the skin. A perfect accomplice to Cleanse and Polish i'd say, but since trading in my harsh Clinique Blemish toner, my skin is loving the fresh soothing boost. Although i dare say you could definitely skip this.

This is the disappointment of the collection for me, in-fact all the Liz Earle sample moisturisers i've tried i have left me gagging. Why? The smell of it reminds me of a herbally old granny. I work with grannies/nanas part-time and i'm pretty used to their powdery floral perfume, but alas, i'm far to young to join them. I can still smell it on the skin hours after application and under make-up, bleurgh. I realise this is a personal preference, but do have a whiff before you buy. Also slightly disappointed it doesn't contain an SPF, sort it out Liz.

The Liz Earle Gentle Exfoliator is a true winner in my books. Being a firm fan of St Ives Apricot scrub, my world came tumbling when some of the gritty particles wound up in my eye, itchy and sore to say the least. The Gentle Exfoliator is what it says on the tin, slightly dubious as to whether it would give me baby soft skin like the St Ives, it performed just as well, but better. The formula is thick and luxiourous, and i like it. The grains are less nitty gritty but work just the same, but with the product being thick it allows one to apply the needed amount of pressure you desire. Nothing worse than a slippery, all over the shop face product.

The Brightening Mask is another pleasure to use, even for the menthol scent alone. Applied to dry skin and left up to two minutes, i can feel it being soothed by the Aloe Vera but being medicated by the Witch Hazel and White Clay. I can't say i notice much in radiance (which i thought was originally its purpose) but the mask certainly softens and boosts my skin. A lovely treatment when feeling under the weather.

The Orange Flower Body Wash was an added extra in my bundle that i didn't specifically set out to trial, but my gosh what a luxury! Its thick consistency lathers very well, especially for an SLS free product. It also forms the perfect foam for shaving, one to set by for special occasions i think or when i'm need of a good pamper. As mentioned this product is sulphate free which is perfect for me, if i use other body washes that do contain sulphates i scratch like crazy, and wake up looking like a crazed crack addict. You get the picture.

Last but not least, the Botanical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner are firm favourites of mine. I do love to swap around my hair products, but i always seem to come back to these. Again free of SLS, they make my hair incredibly shiny and healthy. Though its not as moisturising as other conditioners, hair is left hydrated - just not as silky smooth as others. So be warned if you have rather dry hair.

Have you tried Liz Earle? I know your probably sick of reading about the brand if your a blog reader, but i did purchase this bundle myself! And i thought i'd stick in my two cents.

Nobody said it was easy

Another little post on a fabulous sale bargain i snapped up earlier in the month. I rarely shop at Urban Outfitters, mainly because although i do love 'that' style, it aint really me; plus the prices really are a bit of a hike. However their home/gift department tells another tale, from dainty jewellery holders, whimsical designs on tea cups and beautiful printed bedspreads make wonderful gifts or simply pretty decor! There are also a selection of novelty gifts (perfect for annoying boyfriends) and fabulous one of kind bits and bobs for the house. I had long admired this jewellery box, but for the original price of sixty pounds, i waited long and hard for this baby to go into sale. And bingo, it did, to thirty, with a promo code later i scored it for under twenty. Its fairly large with an intricate cut-out pattern around the edges, i love the fact i can see all my precious nick knacks through the cover!

A little help needed?

I am a complete and utter Ebay virgin. Yup, far too tempting in my eyes. However after a mass wardrobe clear out, being very, very ruthless - i've decided that there are some gems that are far too pretty to be sent to the charity shop (or most likely, i'll be tempted to re-buy them in sellers guilt) so i thought i'd have a try at the whole Ebaying malarky. This is where you come in, hello! I haven't got a foggiest of where to start, i've got a bag full of clothes and shoes, barely worn and thats as far as i've got. Well apart from signing up with an actual Ebay and Pay Pal account, i've worked out that as much. So here are a few of my questions:

- Will any one actually buy from me with no actual feedback?

- How do i know how much to sell things for? A no brainer here, but tips welcome!

- How do i work out postage costs? And more to the point, what do i freaking bag 'em in?

- What rough things should i list on the page?

Phew, thats all the questions i can think of at this moment in time. Sorry to be so demanding - but i am in a pickle. Any advice or further tips will be very much appreciated, maybe we can all learn something?

And yes yes yes i'll put all revenues in my Chanel fund, maybe.

Give me 70's luxe curls any-day. Big, bouncy shiny curls scream Hollywood starlet, right from Grace Kelly's demure primped yet perfect curls to loud, over the top, Victoria Secrets worthy of supermodel Gisele. After quite swooning over red-carpet photos, it was a look i wouldn't even try attempting with relatively short hair. But since its rather slow-never-ending growth its finally achieved enough length for jumbo curling tongs. Hey presto! It was quick, easy and rather fool-proof. But alas did i achieve so?

Boots Jumbo Curling Tong - Boots (£15.99)

My dirty little secret - Boot's own jumbo curling tongs at a rather steal worthy price of £15.99. My eyes water at spending fifty quid plus on a branded curling tong, call me tight but really? If you check the details, all tongs mostly heat to the same level, so its just choosing wisely. I simply tonged large sections, then spritzed with Aussie hair spray (my all time favourite), then brushed out with my Tangle Teezer to gently break up the curls in to soft large waves.

The tongs most certainly most be popular, as they keep selling out constantly on the Boots website. Luckily as my hair is so fine, it roughly takes me about five minutes to tong it all and the curl doesn't drop at all through out the day. If i fancy a smaller precise curl i swear by the Babyliss Curling Wand (£15.99), i've had it for the past four to five years and it is yet to fail me.

Last week Tuesday i was kindly invited by Ted Baker to join them for 'Ted's Team Day', a fashion show devoted to showcasing their next seasons stock to their dedicated retail staff from up and down the country. I was one of the lucky few online press that was allowed in to the event, because really, the whole event isn't for likes of a few bloggers - its for the staff in-store who will be selling it to us the public. An idea which i think is blooming amazing - something i think the british high-street could learn something from! No expense was spared in terms of creativity, from neat cream blankets to keep snug & warm in the transformed warehouse, to the make-shift model photo-shoot taking place during the catwalk. I was delighted to be invited, especially so to support one of my best friends who works in the buying department.

As said previously, Ted Baker is a brand that i had admired from afar, but this collection has got me swooning like crazy. Its fresh, feminine and dainty, in a classic yet certainly in-keeping with the trends we saw on the designer catwalk. Without sounding too far-fetched, Sarah and i could certainly wear every piece - as it mirrored out tastes and style completely. From floaty floral maxi dresses, to tailored cream blazers and shorts, to flirty cocktail dresses, i suddenly got seriously excited for summer. The images above are a few i politely borrowed from Sarah, i adore that pearl necklace and floral maxi-dress!

I did try and film the show on my diddy iPhone, but the results were truly tragic - my horrendous filming, Apple were no part to blame. And you could only hear Sarah constantly pestering me to get married so she could wear this and that flipping dress. But do feast your eyes on this video i, yet again, politely stole for your viewing pleasure.

Admittedly whilst i could buy it all in heartbeat, its is slightly out of my price range. But for an occasion, Ted Baker dresses are definitely worth checking out and splashing the cash. I've been invited to a wedding in the summer so will def keeping an eye out for these to hit store. Its funny how i never get excited about Topshop collections, simply because i find them far too 'out there' - but i fell head over heels for this. Another point i hasten to tell you, I got to cast eyes on the man behind the Ted Baker brand, a man whose identity is so strongly guarded from the media, if i dared to tell you.. well i wouldn't like to say what would happen. Go on google him if you can, you'll see his face is always disguised!

On a more blue note, you may have seen recently the down-turn on the high-street this week - the company which i work for part-time has seriously suffered and are currently with the intent for administration. So who knows whether redundancy will be on the cards, maybe this is the push i need to get right back out there interning, until the dream job lands upon my feet. At this moment in time, feeling rather sad at the prospect of saying good bye to all my loyal grannies!

Lets be frank here, i'm notoriously shite at walking in heels. I've honestly giving up trying, i can however accomplish a brisk walk/jog really quite well, but that really doesn't bode all that well when you are doing your best to look effortlessly fabulous. Also adding a gammy knee (see here) into the already tricky equation and your right up sh*t creak. But its not all doom and gloom, for i like to whip out my trusty killer pair of flats. Be that the patent black pointed pair, or the nude French Sole rip offs, or my latest purchase the Miu Miu-esk embellished Kurt Geiger 'Licorice' pumps. A dainty gold glitter pumps adorned with an ultra feminine baby pink bow, disgustingly sweet but the perfect accomplice to my pinky/neutral dresses. Let the summer evenings commence..

I finally whipped out my Kurt Geiger gift card from Elle magazine that was loaded with £20 credit, plus i used a sneaky little code from Laura 'KGWELCOME10', simply fill your basket with fifty pounds work of pretty shoes and bobs your uncle you save twenty squid. So both discounts you can imagine i snapped up rather a bargain - hence the hair pins to bump up the price.

I'm seriously lusting after these and these, so may do another order some time in the future with the sneak welcome code again. Can i just point out what amazing customer service KG have? I originally ordered these in a six, but being a pesky 5 and a half, they were too big. In normal cases like Topshop you have to return by post and re-order, but KG will exchange and send you another size for free, now thats what i call good service.

As i mentioned previously in my last post, to say i hit the sales is pretty much putting it lightly. Its not that i went overboard, irrationally spending and wasting money on bits and bobs i don't need. Because i've come to realise that 'a bargain is only something you wanted when it was full price,' a motto to live by ladies. I learnt this after spending a small fortune on Prada perfume in the sale without smelling it before hand, believing i had struck gold when frankly it smelt more like 'your a fool for buying perfume online.' Another small note i wish to mention, when i told a rather bemused customer i went a bit crazy in the sale, and she replied 'thats dreadful you'll have to budget the rest of the year' - well, i said, miss middle-age-know-it-all i budgeted for the sale, yes sir-re i have been waiting for this moment (smug face and all). And so for your sanity and mine, that i wouldn't include everything here, i'll save those for a later date.

Balenciaga Paris Perfume 50ml Gift Set - Selfridges (was £65 reduced to £32)

For Christmas i was lucky enough to be gifted with a Selfridges gift voucher from one of my darling best friends. A pretty impressive present if i dare say, men take note - because he certainly did. And by 7.30am on Christmas day, i had spent it on the online Selfridge's sale. Having had long admired the violet notes in the iconic Balenciaga perfume, its hefty price tag was severely off-putting. I even considered shelling out thirty something quid for a 20ml bottle, but honestly after a few spritz's the bottle would have been hung out to dry. To the gift set that containing a 50ml bottle, that retails at £60, for half price, plus gift card, i squealed with delight and have since been spraying like a mad woman.

Philosophy Jolly Jubilee Gift Set - Selfridges (reduced from £18 to £9)

I couldn't say no. Every year the Philosophy Christmas gift sets get me, but up until now i hadn't indulged. Shame on you if you don't know this brand, their beautiful scented bath/body lotions and potions are to die for. They make truly wonderful presents, and i cannot wait to give this a whirl.

Hello Kitty Liberty Bath Set - Boots (£18 reduced to £9)

I can't say I'm a Hello Kitty fan, bit weird if you ask me. But the Liberty print floral wash bag sucked me in entirely and it now houses all my nail care bits and bobs nicely. The bubble bath and scrub are lovely added extras!

Coco De Mer Naked Body Set - Tesco (£9 reduced to £6)

I am a massive fan of the all natural Naked range, especially the scent Coco De Mer of which has a strong resemblance to the rich scents of Chanel. Its honestly like bathing in Chanel No5 - heavenly. I had already received some Coco De Mer goodies for Christmas, but when i saw this set was reduced i couldn't help but pick it up. Mmmm.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara - Debenhams (£21.50 reduced to £13.50)

This was one of the first high-end mascaras i ever bought, not in league with MUF Smokey Lash but it's a trusty reliable formula and at that price whose complaining?

Raspberry Clutch - Topshop (£25 reduced to £15)

I had seen this beautiful raspberry clutch a month or so back and toyed on purchasing, as i can't really keep hauling my Alexa out and about on nights out. But despite the fact that the Mulberry Alexa bag was an insane amount of money, i couldn't bring myself to splash out £25 on a Toppers clutch (no i don't know either, weirdo). As i eagerly entered my local Topshop on Christmas eve just before work, this beauty was hanging up with ten quid knocked off, bargain. Another reason i bought this was, not going to lie, to stop my self from buying this Mulberry bag in the sale, ahem.

This would be my mug, in all my new fancy Cannon-something glory. I figured that while i may rave on about certain new holy-grail products and splash my cosmetic collection over the internet, i haven't actually got around to showing you the nitty gritty, the durable desert island necessities that i use on a daily basis. Nothing too fancy or technical, sometimes i do feel the urge to plough more on and get creative, but this is my bog-standard look. I aim to look somewhat polished, letting my skin breath and show through, rather than just look like i'm wearing layers of foundation - a trend that appears to often on our Facebook feeds no?

L'Oreal True Match Powder - Superdrug (£8.19) A worthy replacement for my Mac Sheer Pressed powder, not as long lasting or invisible, but certainly a winner for the high street; very soft and finely milled.

Mac Select SPF 15 - Debenhams (£19.50) After a quick flirt with Estee Lauders Doublewear Light, i shimmied back to Mac for a lighter coverage and a dewy finish, that gives the appeal of your skin but better.

Mac Pro-Longwear Concealer - Debenhams (£13.50) A serious flawed design error here, a pump that distributes way too much product. As a little certainly goes a long way, and ever more long-lasting on the skin. Perfect for invisible blending on under-eye circles, covering pesky blemishes and covering large pores. A true winner.

Laura Mercier Brow Pencil in Blonde - John Lewis (£15.50) - Since letting my eyebrows grow, and an added little help courtesy of M2Beaute, i've really enjoyed filling in my brows and letting them frame my face. Albeit still slightly tweaking my technique and aiming for more twins than sisters, the LM pencil is an absolute gem. It's shade of blonde is a tone haven't come across before, but perfectly matches my light brown brows. Its triangular shaped form allows precision and its formula is amazingly long-lasting.

Eyeshadow Primer - ELF (£3.00) - If there was ever a best budget beauty buy it would be this little guy, forget oily lids and eyeshadow moving south - this primer ensures shadows are long lasting and practically throws Urban Decay primer out of the water.

Soleil Tan De Chanel - Debenhams (£29.00) - One of the pricer love affairs in my make-up collection but one i would have over and over. This cream matte bronzer not only smells like tropical heaven but provides a fooling tan worthy of two weeks away in the Caribbean. Neither is it orange toned or cakey, but a seamless blend of tanned goodness. In the wintery months i use this as a light contour, in the summer i use as an all over bronzer. A firm favourite of mine since summer the year before last, i still am yet to make a great dent in the pot.

Nars Laguna Bronzer - John Lewis (£24.00) - If there was one powder bronzer to rule them all then Nars Laguna would take its crown surely. A firm favourite amongst beauty editors and us common folk alike, it provides a matte all over bronze, with the slightest hint of shimmer. It can be used to create a full on bronze, or a light sun kissed look. Or currently a look i'm sporting, 'yes i'm alive in winter.' You can tell my love from this product from its sheer wear and tear, this Laguna came unhinged and another lies broken after a nasty mix up with a leaky Evian bottle. Also can be used to create a lovely eye-shadow crease contour.

Nars blusher in Deep Throat - John Lewis (£20.50) - Naughty by name, but worth it all the same. This baby pink, with an added shot of gold shimmer is the perfect blush colour - suiting most skin types. Its fail safe, fool proof and a great start in experimenting the Nars brand. Long lasting and great pigmentation, coupled with the sleek black Nars packaging, it makes me tingle all over.

L'Oreal SuperLiner - Superdrug (£6.49) - The most easiest liquid liner i have ever come by, and boy I've tried a few. I'm done with gel or kohl liners, for the Superliner gives the sleekest, sharpest black pigmentation. The brush tip is fool proof, simply gliding along the lash line. I've gone through tubes and tubes of this bad boy.

YSL Faux Cils Mascara - Debenhams (£23.00) - A very hyped up mascara that does produce pretty impressive results, but nothing on that of Make Up Forever Smokey Lash, of which i'll swiftly be repurchasing.

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Tzarine - John Lewis (£23.00) - Another firm favourite of mine, as you can see i've definitely hit pan. The perfect all over champagne nude, for a subtle wash of colour, which can be teemed with any other colour from the Naked palette to take from day to night.

Mac Lipstick in Hue - Debenhams (£13.50) - Another wearable shade for all, and personally my favourite nude lipstick, with the right balance of baby pink. Its creamsheen formula creates the most ideal texture, creating a creamy long-lasting, moisturising finish.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Peach Petal - Superdrug (£7.49) - A suitable companion for Mac's Hue, this peachy pink nude is a great shade for any nude or toning down a loud lipstick. Its heavenly creamy formula is why its such a great product, it can be applied to a bare dry lip and instantly add moisture, providing a non-sticky nude gloss.

Well better late than never - here are a few snaps of my Christmas. I found Christmas whizzed past this year, and as a result i'm having to scoff as many Pringles and Ferrero Rocher's in a bid to keep up with tradition. This year i visited family in Worthing for Christmas day, then after much drama resulting in no petrol (and nine petrol stations being empty) Matthew and i set off home to swap presents and spend the evening getting merry, eating nibbles and watching the Inbetweeners with friends.

Well, well, well i thought i'd reign in this last post of 2011 with two of my great loves, one new and one old. The newest being the theft of my dad's fancy SL R camera (something Cannon) and my brand new set up for 2012 once i've mastered the art of the self-timer button. And secondly, my old love - a bargain Topshop dress i bagged in the sale last week.

The past year has been a pretty damn good one to say the least, i hit my two year blogging anniversary, worked my arse off doing my dissertation, graduated with a first class honours degree in Magazine Publishing, sunned my self silly relaxing and soaking up the culture of Cuba, met many faces of the blogging community (much to my grans horror), treated myself to Mulberry Alexa, braced the world of contact lenses, hit my eight year anniversary with Matthew (shudder), grew an amazing pair of eyebrows courtesy of Charlotte and M2Beaut, all my glasses of fine champers were always on the house (an achievement right there), discovered the genus Stieg Larson and Jo Nesbo, listened to Etta James on repeat and my hair finally grew past that sodding length. And on the downside i gained a gammy leg and still remain a job-hunting graduate, whose perfectly happy looking for the perfect career.

And finally, what would a new years post be without one little resolution - to stop fooling oneself and everyone that your saving for that dream Chanel bag when we both know that £4.20 you saved all year wouldn't even buy you a tube ticket to stroke one, let alone buy one. So heres my very own money box, a horrendously wrapped tissue box that will be filled, and not emptied in emergencies that include needing that Topshop dress or taxi fare. Heres hoping in 2013 i will buy one, not 2012 of course, we are in a recession don't you know? ;)

(And yes it near killed me to cut up my Chanel shopping bag to stick that on the front).

Let me start this post off by wishing you a very Merry Christmas! I truly hope you had a fabulous time, getting merry, eating plenty and having a lovely time with family. I went to Worthing to visit family on the day itself, then battled it home on the motorway with Matthew to spend the evening at home with friends, eating plenty of nibbles and watching the Inbetweeners film. I received some wonderful gifts both from friends, family and Matthew, and definitely found time to raid the online sales - of which i will be posting shortly. This post is all about a rather lovely Benefit set i was gifted from my brother for my birthday, but has recently gone into sale at a rather steal worthy price. Sharing is caring after all ;).

Ticket to Glossy Town - Benefit @ Boots (reduced from £19.00 to £13.00!)

This set contains five dinky miniature Benefit lipglosses, ranging from nudes to pinks to more daring shades such as a light lilac toned pink and a festive red. Benefit is a one hit wonder kinda brand to me, some of the items i think are truly amazing - i adore Highbeam and Magic Ink - but some are godawful, looking at you Bad Gal mascara and Some-Kinda Faker foundation. I also had the worst experience at their Croydon counter, it was my 18th birthday i went for a classic navy smoked eye, and resulted in a cross between Dame Edna and a glittery hooker - not cool. However, one of my gorgeous friends Victoria had worked at Benefit in one of their London boutique and introduced me to their lipglosses. They really are an understated gem in the Benefit line, non-sticky, amazing shades and ultra shiny. I fell in love with a shade Life On the A-List a few years back but it got bloody discontinued, the most beautiful perfect nudey pink. As soon as i saw it was in this set i was delighted! They may be dinky sized, but i think its a great way to try out more daring shades, or even to pop in a clutch on a night-out.

Life on the A-list - 'a bubblegum pink'

Not bubblegum pink in the slightest! A lovely pale pink/nude gloss - my go to shade.

A very bright juicy coral shade, perfect for the summer.

Foxy Lady - 'diamond rose'

A true winner of the set, a true bubblegum pink with beautiful silver and blue reflective shimmer, so sparkly!

Nude-tudie - 'gold-spun twist'

Peach toned nude, with gold shimmer. Your lips but better.

So Frisk Me - 'gilded berry'

Another shade that looks rather scary mary in the tube, but rest assured on it applies to a berrylious dark pink jam packed with sparkle.

I highly recommend this set, even though i'm not a full blown lipgloss wearer, i do think they are perfect for travel or evenings out. I do love me a Benefit gift set, i received one or two for Christmas! I am pondering over a Christmas gift post as they are rather controversial, but will definitely be revealing my sale bargains as soon as they land on my door step. Never ending. I still have a few presents to receive thanks to mailing/postage cut off dates being missed - boys eh? Can't complain though, two lots of present opening! I was very, very well behaved when it came to the Mulberry sale, though it pained me. I thought the Net-A-Porter one was complete pants, though i still have a gift credit to use, watch this space! Also pondering on what to spend some Christmas pennies on, this Liz Earle set is calling my name, thoughts? Talk to me ladies, yay or nay!

Forget Mary Portas, for ladies i am the true retail genius. Not in the sense that i love working in retail, as no human should be objected to that chore, but in the sense i can spot a sale twenty miles off, get my elbow out and shove you off so i can whip that size 10 out of your paws. I've closely watched the pattern of the Topshop sale, call me a mental, but honestly i just want to nab a bargain. I even stumbled on the Net-A-Porter sale by accident the night before it launched, causing a twitter frenzy. I even was joking with Yinka about having a 'gut feeling' that even though the main Topshop sale would be going live on Christmas eve, that something would happen today. I woke up randomly at 5am, fuzzy eyes on the iPhone.. a mini preview sale?? Ten minutes later bleary eyed i bought two items i had been lusting at over for weeks (at a more friendlier price!)

Geometric Tuni Dress - Topshop (from £65 to £30)

Ever since trying this dress on in Westfield many moons ago, the mothership has been borderline harassing me to purchase this dress. It may not look all that appealing in its product shot, but on its another story. It would look amazing in Spring with tan brogues and black tights. (Spring? what the hell.)

Lace Full Skirt - Topshop (£38 reduced to £20)

Another purchase i had been ummming and ahhing over for achingly long time, its so classic and timeless. I will have to have to find a beautiful black silk blouse to wear with!

Pearl Knit Jumper - H&M (was £14.99 reduced to £7.49)

So whilst i was browsing online at this insane hour of the morning i stopped by H&M to grab some sale bargains that just cam back in stock. I love that H&M do that, they are probably the only store to restock their sale - yes you'll probably receive the order in July sometime but what the heck. This metallic jumper is an absolute bargain, mainly err because it is from the children's section (age 14+) . Yup, guilty as charged. I first saw gazed my eyes upon it with the H&M catalog sent to me, as soon as i saw it i needed it, but age 14, are you kidding me? Why don't make adult sizes? Zara are churning out the same design (albeit slightly bigger) for fifty quid! After trying one on instore (really embarrassing) and finding to my delight it fits in a warped way, and seeing it on a lady at the Mulberry sample sale (i asked her, she look mortified but agreed it twas the same jumper), i feel i have justified its existence in my wardrobe.

After attending the Motel press day month or so go, i was kindly offered a piece from their new A/W collection. My heart was quickly sold completely on the Gabby dress, its a very well fitted sequin mini-body-con dress that is simply amazing. I had been waiting for the right moment to wear it, as it is rather statement, when last night it made its debut at my work's Christmas party - gotta have a touch of sparkle! I love the fact that its long sleeved and it dips low at the back, but not low enough to have the mad frantic 'ohmygod- you can see my bra!' Another thing that drew my eye was the fact that unlike other sequin dresses on the high-street currently, the sequins are sown onto a black material rather than being really, really heavy sequins all over, and well, looking tacky.

However, as some of you may have seen from my Twit Pic, you either have to be incredibly brave/daring/slutty or just short to wear this dress because it is literally so short. It just about covers my derrière at a push, and to even think about dancing in it gives me (and my dad) nightmares. This actually really saddened me, its such a beautiful well fitting dress, why/who on earth would wear such a short dress? I'm no stranger to the shorter hemline but crikey. Thankfully my hair dresser came to rescue with the idea of wearing a short black body-con skirt underneath to give it a touch more length. A tip that not only paid off, saved my modesty and allowed me to wear such beautiful dress whilst frantically jumping up and down to Come On Eileen.

Despite its length issues, i really highly recommend this dress, it really does fit like a glove and i'm truly in love with it. I think it would make the absolute perfect New Years dress, especially now in the sale at £29 down from £59 - bargain! Sort out your hemlines Motel - or maybe i'm too old fashioned?

The festive season has once again sneaked around very quickly, and to celebrate in such festive style i decided to throw my very own Christmas Blogging Cocktail Party. For my Christmas rendezvous i invited some of my many favourite bloggers to attend. Rockin' around the Christmas tree

Over the weekend i went out for my first Christmas shenanigans with a few old school girls, then spent Sunday recovering (wine is not my friend) so this post is more of a Tuesday catch up, snap shot. if you like.

On Sunday i wrapped all my presents, and bloody heck there was a lot of them. The first few i busted out my amazing wrapping skills, getting all fancy with festive and strategically placed bows, evoking that Love Actually moment with all the finishing touches and decoration. Not forgetting my Christmas slippers at the ready and my ultimate get-into-christmas film, Mary Poppins on in the background.

17's Mirror Shine lipstick in Hollywood - Boots (£3.06)

After perusing around Boots on payday, i decided to splurge on a red lipstick named 'Hollywood' from 17. Their Mirror Sine formulas are incredible, with a striking resemble to Chanel's Coco Rouge Shines. They apply really creamy, with a strong moisturising/hydrating feel on the lips, but looking ever so shiny. After previously purchasing the nude shade Beehive, i knew Hollywood would be a nicely pigmented (not overly so) but with a enough shine to not look too out there. Slowly taking those baby steps to a wearable red lip! Definitely be whacking this out at the Work Christmas do, then maybe one day Mac's Ruby Woo.

Last night i went out for a second Christmas rendezvous, dinner with the girls. The lovely Sarah gifted me with these beautiful presents. Hands-down she is the best gift giver, and no you can't steal her. The Liz Earle hair set has been a long favourite of mine (i highly rate it), Victor & Rolf fairy tales is another beautiful coffee table book for my collection, and sorry - but Fashion Designer Top Trumps - amazing!

These two skirts are no lie, probably two of the best clothing buys of this year. I spied the two embellished beauties back on the New Look website in early November, but never looked twice as combined they came to a good eighty quid. I bought them both on Saturday night for a horrendously amazing £16! The black and gold sequin skirt is made of surprising good quality, with a fitted lining and embellished gold waist band, a skirt i'll definitely be wearing on Christmas eve. The pale nude pink skirt is a rather Mui Mui-esk scalloped edged with dainty sequin flower petal detail, one to definitely be worn in summer. Such great buys for my wardrobe, perfect with a silk vest top or dressed down with a black blazer and plain white v-neck tee!

The other day i received an email from My Wardrobe offering me cheeky discount on sale-preview items, i hopped right on over and snagged myself an early Christmas present, to myself, from myself. With 30% off and my £20 gift card (that i had been keeping for a rainy day), i really couldn't resist...

Black Tall Hunter Wellington Boots - My Wardrobe (£69.00)

I treated myself to a pair of classic black Hunter wellington boots for a rather steal-worthy price of £33, including the very luxurious packaging and speedy delivery. My Wardrobe - i'll put my hands up here - have fantastic customer service. I ordered standard delivery, they were with me the very next day, with ribbons and fancy white wrapping paper, the whole she-bang. Definitely worthwhile signing up to their mailing list too, as they are forever dishing out personal discount codes every season.

I've had my eye on a pair of Hunter since last Winter, but always been put off by coughing up that amount just for a pair of rubber wellies. However some of you may have already heard of my knee trouble that i mentioned the weekend before last on twitter, but its really been troubling me. It all started when i was in duty free before i was due to jet off on holiday in the summer, my left knee gave way completely as i bent down (damn you Victoria Secret lipgloss) and felt rather crampish and achey after. Simply dismissing it as just one of those things at the time, over the past few months it's happened a few more times - giving way whenever i bend or crouch. Part of me think's i've been serving the grannies in retail so long, i'm slowing morphing in to one.

Yet last Saturday night was breaking point, my leg gave way and actually locked in to a bent shape. Looking back now its hilarious to think i couldn't actually straighten my leg, had to hop to the bathroom and have my dad carry me around the house whilst i was agony. Luckily (and thankfully, and bloody typically) it clicked back in to place just as i was about to jump in the car to A&E on the following Sunday morning. Straight away that week i went to the doctors and after inspection i have abnormal cartilage in my leg - lovely. And he informed me i'll probably need key hole surgery at some point to give a trim (puke). After a brief car-park cry to my Dad, who indecently everyone thought was my boyfriend in the doctor's waiting room, and with the advice of muscle building in the gym (er, exercise, what? this word doesn't exist in my vocabulary) i'll be fine. I just don't do any heavy lifting, any crouching, or knee bending. Basically, i turned into a granny.

So cut a long story short, i bought these wellington boots for strictly medicinal purposes, as god help if it dare snow i'll be knee lockin' an' hoppin' all over the shop. Now if that ain't a reason i don't know.

On a side note, how odd is this? Theres room for you to write your name and contact deets, just incase i don't know they should happen to be caught up in a mass wellington rendezvous and one should stray?

Tell me, am i the only 22 year old girl who makes her parents come to the doctor with her? And secondly, a desk chair makes the perfect DIY wheelchair should you ever need to know.

Final, final thing, my diy marks and sparks Christmas cards are now half price here, and i snapped up two beautiful embellished skirts in the New Look sale online with free delivery with both totalling to a steal worth £16.50! I bought this one (bloody steal) and this beaut!

A few weeks back i snuck into to Topshop on Oxford St. and made a few sneaky purchases. Teamed with a gift card and an unusual but rather delightful discount that came with Stylist magazine, i made a beeline for two items that had caught my eye. I decided to make thorough use of my time and take the fifty thousand items to the fitting room to have a good trying on sesh, while mentally add them to my 'Must-buy-in-Sale' list. In the mean time i snapped some obligatory changing room snaps, terrible photos, but alas i couldn't resist..

I do love snippet of nautical, in-fact my entire wardrobe is one big stripe overload. Three quarter length sleeves, slashed neck, a hem line that stretches further than your bum and amazing body-con powers, this dress clings in all the right places. And, not going to lie, makes my bust look rather impressive - optical illusions i dare say ;) It is the ultimate staple item, yes sir-re.

Bird Sequined Jumper - Topshop (£46.00)

Oh look at that - i ventured outside for that outfit photo. Tad pricey i must admit for a jumper, but really cannot resist any sparkle, especially in bird form! A bit lost at what to wear this with, apart from black skinnies, but Michelle clearly came to rescue with her What To Wear post, the beautiful dark purple shade skirt will be mine. This jumper is the perfect blush/apricot shade and it super soft, not itchy like i feared. I would definitely look out for this in the sale if its caught your eye.

Firstly, lets get two things straight: i can't be faffed with nail art and secondly i'm a shamed nail biter. Anything to stop me nibbling is a godsend, and anything that looks half decent and is fairly fool proof i'm there. Queue Models Own glitter polishes, easy to apply and i don't have a sneaky nibble in fear of a glittery gob. Classy girl. I've mentioned Model's Own Pink Fizz previously, but i wanted to show you it's full glittery-goodness potential, in all my new camera's glory. These polishes may be a god-awful nightmare to remove, but my heavens they are undeniably pretty, especially so at this time of year. At £5 a pop, they are ten times the bog-standard glittery varnish we've seen previously, fantastic quality and pay-off.

Pink Fizz & Disco Mix - Boots (£5.00)

I bought Pink Fizz a while back and have been using continuously, it has silver particles that glitter pink in the light - or vise versa, i can't tell! Secondly is Disco Mix, another Model's Own Polish i was kindly given to by the lovely Yinka, of which has purple pink and turquoise green glitters.

I found layering the glitter over another polish not only intensifies the colour of the sparkle, but over all is less damaging to your nail when removing, as theres nothing worse than stubborn glitter. I've been using Pink Fizz over Ciate's Guest List, a dark purple wine shade. It creates the perfect purple base providing a strong wine/pink tone to shine through the glitter, without looking too tacky.

There are two ways to wear Pink Fizz over the wine shade, two layers to create a full impact glittery nail or lightly painted with glitter so the wine colour shines through underneath.

Next up is Disco Mix, although the same glittery formula as Pink Fizz, the glitter is less chunky, being less build-able to the full impact nail of the Pink Fizz. It does however look as equally as striking, and i paired this over Nars Night Flight, a shimmering navy. This too provides a strong base colour for the polish, really striking against the pinky purple specs of glitter.

Sally Hansen Insta- Dri - Boots (£6.15)

Another great product i would definitely recommend is the Sally Hansen Insta - Dri, cheaper than the likes of Essie and Seche Vite top coats, it works amazingly well. Especially so when your layering rather thick glitter layers over other polishes! It also works wonders smoothing over the glitter and giving maximum shine.

Have you used any of the Model's Own Varnishes? You can find them online at Boots or their own website. I may have to buy this multipack of all of them as a Christmas present to myself, what a steal!

And finally, finally i'm so excited to say i'm getting my nails Shellac-d in time for Christmas! Anyone had this done? I'm slightly scared that my nails are too short, but watch this space. Another little thing i wanted to share is Laura's post on the AMAZING deals online at Bumble & Bumble hair care this weekend, free delivery, free samples and a free thickening travel kit when i purchased a £5 bottle of shampoo! Score. I may have placed three separate orders ;)

Never too much

Most of us will have some inkling of the clothing brand Forever 21, as it has long graced our American cousins across the pond with frivolous throw-away inexpensive fashions. It did however hop over the shore earlier this year, with its two flagship stores being on Oxford St, and bizarrely Birmingham. I must admit Forever 21 did intrigue me, seeing the odd item in Teen Vogue in my teen years and knowing that Lauren Conrad buys her white staple tees there was enough to suck me in entirely. I literally just hand't got around to visiting, until i was invited to their S/S 12 press day.

Sarah and i decided to have a good mooch round in-store first, and quite frankly 5pm on a Wednesday night wasn't the best timing. Just like Topshop up the road, there is a never a quiet moment. The store itself is rather weird, taking over the old HMV flagship (much to my boyfriend's horror), the store is weirdly shaped out. The stock however is a gem, slightly more feminine that Topshop, less basic than H&M, but more on par with New Look, with very reasonable prices sits Forever 21.

If you need one reason alone to visit Forever 21, it is their amazing treasure trove of jewellery. The top floor houses stands upon stand of the most precious, beautiful jewellery i've seen on the high-street, for anyones taste. And its cheap as chips!

I was on the hunt for a statement gold necklace to wear with a simple grey jumper, as soon as i saw this it was perfect. Littered with diamonds, pearls and golden flowers, it really adds something to an otherwise rather plain outfit. Priced between £3/£4, you really can't go wrong.

Then along we popped to the press-day, of which i won't bore you with hundreds of photos when its far to cold to think about dainty summer dresses! I was seriously impressed with whats on offer, slightly dubious about the quality but at that price you really can't complain. It was again the jewellery that caught my eye, so pretty!

Over the last few weeks i've been pondering over their site, which is crazy rammed with hundreds and hundreds of items. Their basic tees are amazing, as well as their Yellow Tag deals which are pretty barginous. However their product images on the main site are way to small, and must admit this this really gets my goat. If i want to online shop, i want to be able to see your stock, no? Rant over. After much pondering and deliberation these are the items making their way in the post to me!

Papas got a brand new bag!

Last Wednesday i was luckily enough to be invited to a Mulberry sample sale at the Music Rooms, South Molten St. How did i nab that invite? I don't know, but god bless that mailing list. After attending last year, i upped the ante, took various saved birthday money and aimed for a more peaceful hour of shopping around 3pm. Who was i to kid? These women were crazed Mulberry addicts, and i was right there with 'em. Bypassing the bags (there was a reason they didn't sell first time around), i could have nabbed some serious bargains accessory wise (£37 for a laptop case - serious regret!). But with my wise head on I snapped up this dark brown make-up purse for a rather tidy sum of £70, something i know i will forever use and also happens to nicely match this little purse i bought last year!

Fear not ladies, for the Mulberry January sale is just as good, if not a little dangerous. Look out for the online sale for some rather good reductions, and if your local House of Fraser stocks Mulberry, definitely check out their concessions. My local HOF always has some great sale pieces that don't sell out too quickly! I may have my eye on this. I have been awfully good.

A week or so ago i was invited to the Tesco S/S 12' launch at the Oxo Tower with a few of my other favourite bloggers. I've been to rather a few Spring/Summer preview events, but honestly whilst the weather is currently below freezing, i can't quite muster up the enthusiasm to show you the latest pair teeny tiny pair of hot pants on show. However, i was pretty much blown away with what Tesco have to offer next summer, their designs were bang on trend, mirroring the romance of sunny whimsical days out to the Victoria Beckham-esk clean, structured lines. I'm really not fibbing when i say i could happily buy most of the collection, it also makes me wonder, does my local store even get most of this stuff in? I bloody hope so, the prices were cheap as chips (on par with Primark's more pricey side) but excellent quality.

I've got a bit of a soft spot for Tescos, i always have a sneaky browse around their clothes department whilst i'm in the middle of my grocery shop. Grocer shop meaning stockpiling on magazines and sweets but still, i have found some amazing gems, that i still wear now. They are my go-to for swimwear as you can mix and match all sizes (perfect for when your flat chested with hips the size of a small killer whale) at really affordable prices. I've definitely got my eye on their Cath Kidston-esk printed bikinis, far too pretty.

Sadly i didn't get too many photos, as i was suffering with Man Flu and juggling a box of tissues and a camera around the swanky OXO tower wasn't an easy feat. But definitely check out Sarah, Hannah, Emma and Sophie's blogs for more snaps.

F&F Heart Knitted Booties - (£10.50)

These slippers were already on my Christmas list, but i really couldn't wait that long! They are unbelievable toasty and comfy, especially so when you get home from a long day serving customers in the Christmas rush. I've also spied this tartan dressing gown too, of which will be going straight on my Christmas List!

F&F Luxury Wool Grey Tights - (£6.00)

Longtime readers of mine, will know of my underlying love of knitted tights. I usually pick up a good few pairs to last me through the winter season, they really are so much better than normal tights for staying warm in the freezing British weather! This pair are super soft and fitted perfectly, i dare say i'll be popping in for a few more pairs. I adore these floral ones, embracing my inner 5 year old no? Anyone else have to pick up Large to accommodate their rather long legs?

F&F Checked Shorts - (£16.50)

This photo really doesn't do these tailored check shorts any justice. Never-the-less, i picked these as i really love wearing shorts in the winter, paired with you guessed it, a thick pair of wooly tights. I have so many dainty cream blouses that would look great paired with these, for a overly British tweedy look.

F&F Cable Knit Skirt - (£14.00)

My favourite purchase being this cable knit grey skirt, however i have no ideas what so ever how to wear it? As with a jumper i look far too snuggly and resemble a wooly sheep. What would you pair it with, any ideas welcome on a postcard please.

This post is all about my winter warmers, with the cold weather causing havoc with my skin i raided my beauty box to unearth some hidden treasures. I've been religiously using these three products for the last month or so, and can definitely see a much-improved difference, plus its added brownie points for using up my massive product stash in prep for the onslaught of the beauty gifts i've popped on my Christmas list!

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream - (£25.00)

First up is Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, a rather iconic product known for its multiple uses. The herbal smelling orange gel can be used on skin irritations, sun burn, scrapes or dry skin to heal and sooth. However i find this is the perfect lip balm, its thick consistency only needs the tiniest smidgen to instantly hydrate and really sink in, then in the morning, hey presto! beautiful silky soft lips. I suffer horrendously with a rather bizarre dry patch on my upper lip, bought on from the air con at work (boo!) and this does wonders. Pricey for a lip balm? Yes, but it will last you forever. One thing you'll have to get used to is the icky herbal scent on first application, but i assure you it's worth it!

Next up are two products by a brand called Trilogy, an Aussie brand that relies on natural ingredients, mainly the legendary Rose Hip Oil, that boast some pretty amazing qualities. To tell you the truth, i hadn't really thought to use these products until i found them stashed away. But for a brand that hails all natural ingredients, i am seriously impressed with my first foray into the Trilogy brand.

Trilogy Everything Balm - (£20.50)

The Everything Balm is pretty much your standard balm that you can use of any dry patches, elbows, ankles or feet. You can find on these balms from most brands nowadays, from the Body Shop to Liz Earle. Though the Trilogy Everything Balm is jam-packed with a long list full of moisturising oils. from marjula, rose hip, olive oil, coconut, jojoba and the list doesn't end there! Its one little pot of moisturising goodness. Its hard white texture instantly smoothes out to an oil consistency, absorbing fast and easy to spread. I have been using this little skin wonder on my tootsies, with summer long-gone in to the distant past, thats no excuse to forget about your feet. I rub this in after a hot shower, then wear a pair of cotton socks to soak in over night. In the morning i'm left with baby soft feet and it seems to have completely moisturised away any hard skin. Now if that isn't impressive, i don't know what is!

Trilogy Rose Hip Oil - (£16.50)

The Trilogy RoseHip Oil is a 100% skin care oil that caters again for a number of things, alike Bio Oil, it can used on scars, stretch marks and wrinkles. I however have been using this as a night time facial oil after applying my night time moisturiser. The pipette makes and easy application and upon three drops i massage it into my face, avoiding the eye area. I won't bang on about all the Rose Hip Oil goodness, as you can find it here, but what i will say is that when i wake up my skin is very smooth, not overly soft but smooth. It improves the appearance of my pores and any pimples i have, i honestly feel that this definite giving my skin a much-needed moisture boost. On application it isn't neither greasy or just laying on the skin, it sinks it rather well. My only bug bear is the smell, the faint smell of dead roses isn't that appealing, but it wears off pretty quickly.

Although this is the perfect starter kit for any Nars virgin, as it houses their best sellers in a travel friendly duo, both Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer. Pretty much a steal at that price, especially with the added matching mini gloss.

Ted Baker is a brand i admire from afar, being rather on the premium side of the high-street its a tad too pricey for my budget. However, i thought i'd do a very sneaky post for today only they are having 20% off everything online and in-store! This post is the first of many of a new feature i've decided to write leading up to Christmas. You'll be relieved to know that this isn't no ordinary gift guide, as i've already practically memorised (and circled with a big fat red marker) the entire contents of the Boots catalog. I've decided to showcase the many beautiful coffee table books i have acquired over many past birthdays and Christmases, maybe as a gift idea for a lovely friend, or lets not beat around the bush, your Christmas list. They all range from beauty, fashion and style, to kick of this week i decided to start with my favourite book that resides on my overflowing bookcase.

Chanel, Collections and Creations by Daniele Bott - (£17.50)

I first came across the beautiful Chanel, Collections and Creations written by Daniele Bott when i was searching for a gift for a close friend. This amazingly detailed coffee table book not only houses a wealth of knowledge surrounding the iconic French fashion brand but unveils the most beautiful imagery, of which is undeniably stunning, detailing the moving journey of Chanel, from Coco to Karl. After my friend received this, she then made prints of the images and framed them, hence the long over-zealous photos i had to include as in-sight..

The house of Chanel opened its private image archives especially, showing the historical journey of the Chanel brand, from the iconic exact designs from Coco Chanel to the modern day transformation of Karl Largerfield. The book itself covers five central themes rooted to Chanel: the classic tweed suit (of which i will own several of by my seventies), the camellia, fine jewellery, fragrances and cosmetics, and finally the little black dress. I could waffle on about this grand yet sleek coffee table has to offer on each theme but i will say what i learnt from this guide, is the story behind the Camelia, the famous flower incorporated in many classic designs, still to this day. The Camelia is a simple, classic white flower favourited by Coco, for its likeness to her style: feminine yet androgynous. The flower also bares no scent, as not to interfere with any perfumes - something i find fascinating. Even still to this day Karl Largerfield always reworks the Cameilia into each of his collections, its always present yet in a completely different creation.

I've been itching to write this post for the past week, let me roll back to the Monday before last, one of my lovely friends eagerly text me to say that her Elle subscription had been delivered and along side was a gift card for Kurt Geiger. Lets just say, i hunted out the latest copy of Elle like some crazed woman, blazing down the isle of my local Tesco whilst kicking myself wholeheartedly to never renewing my subscription.

However, some the pumps i've spied above are rather amazing at the now-reduced price of £10, something i definitely don't mind shelling out. If you were feeling more flashy, they do have some lovely heels, but i'm far too tight to pay out for those and not near enough brave to actually wear them out of the house. What you could even do, which is rather sneaky, but clever and economical at the same time is buy another magazine, activate it online, then stash it away till summer and use it towards a new pair of summer sandals - as you have a full twelve months to redeem the card. Whats more is that a selected number of cards once activated can hold up to £1000 store credit to use, of which you may be able to afford one their horrendous Kurt Geiger handbags priced at the extortionate price of £400, jeeze louise, get off your high horse.

Will you be nabbing a pair of KG with your £20 gift card? Eurgh and i tell you what always annoys me, every time Michelle Williams is on a front cover, every single headline or story revolves around Heath, give the gal a break for chrissake.

After a speedy delivery of a new Macbook charger, i'm back on top blogging form. With the recent boredom ensued from lack of the internet i decided to do a mass room overhaul, which led me to find a brand new, unused Moleskin note book. As much as i was slightly horrified at the fact that i can easily forget about such things, i'm delighted to be able to jot my bloggy ideas down in such beautiful leather stationary goodness, so do brace yourself because i have a lot to share! First up being this beautiful cream embellished beret i spotted in good old Marks and Sparks. Evoking my inner magpie, the sparkly beads and faux diamonds caught my eye and i bought it on the spot.

The beret it's self is a soft creamy white mohair material which the vintage looking embellishment to the side. It looks undeniably pretty, and rather a statement piece. I cannot wait to wear it when it gets rather chilly, however i dare say i look a bit top heavy with my glasses - but with my new contacts it works well, especially since my stobborn hair has finally grown. I'd say it is rather pricey at fifteen squid, but the quality is there as the beads are throughly attached. I did think about buying this as a gift for someone for Christmas, but honestly, its far too pretty to give away!

Berry Lipgloss by 17 - Boots (£3.99)

I thought i would share some photos of the lipgloss i snapped in this post, simply because i'm really quite obsessed. Its the perfect answer for some one a tad too scared for a bright red lipstick, this gloss is still highly pigmented and a true red, it just doesn't seems a hella of a lot easier to wear.. plus it makes me feel all festive.

Whilst we have literally just fallen into the first few days of November, which of course officially means that Christmas is just around the corner, i have indeed, not going to lie, don't hate me, basically, already completed the majority of my Christmas shopping. I'm never normally this prepared, but i've been feeling overly festive rather early, maybe its the lure of sequins and sparkle, but i adore choosing gifts and quite frankly my house does resemble the local post office with incoming deliveries. But back to the point of this post, after buying everyone else wonderful gifts i thought it was about time to treat oneself over the past few weeks...

Wine Cable Jumper - Primark (£14.00)

Primark is such a hit and miss shop for me, i mostly pick bits and bobs up, head the dressing room and find it freakishly sized wrong. Or i get home it gets completely and utterly mangled after one wash. However, this jumper is a definite exception. It is rather well made, extremely toasty, rather long in the body and i really, really cannot get enough of this shade. Move over navy, burgundy wine is my new black (you know what i mean).

Embellished Sequin Blouse -Primark (£12.00)

If your a loyal reader of mine, you'll know that i seriously swoon every season over an embellished blouse - yet i really cannot justify the hefty price tags that even the high-street has to offer, especially on something so delicate (that my mum may butcher in the wash). As soon as i saw this beauty, i hopped skipped and jumped to try it on, and i really does look fabulous over a white vest with nude chiffon skirt or black skinnies.

I have no idea why I'm drawn to these boots, they really are slightly out of my style. But their overall chunkiness and dark chocolate colour are really asking to toughen up a dainty tea dress. Perfect for dare i say puddle splashing?

Charcoal grey knitted leggings are my ultimate winter purchase. Tucked into my tan riding boots with chunky cream socks i think so!

Wine Tailored Coat - New Look (£34.99)

I made a sneaky New Look order within the week as they had a 25% off, with an added stolen student discount from the brother i really couldn't resist. This coat had caught my eye a month or so ago, and such heavily discounted it was rude to say no. This photo really doesn't do justice, its simple gold buttons on a dark burgundy red tailored cut make it so perfect. Its horrendously boring to conform to a black coat and blend it, but this red really stands out against a crowd. It also amazingly works well with half the outfits in my wardrobe, i really do love this coat.

Pumps - New Look (£12.00)

I live in flats and i was really missing a dark red pair, my newest addition to my wardrobe were not only a steal but a great pop of colour to any outfit.

Mittens - New Look (£4.19)

I detest paying for delivery charges, so instead of paying the four quid delivery charge i bumped up my total with these adorable furry mittens to qualify for free delivery. They are unbelievably warm, and to cute to resist really.

Nail Varnish in Exquisite & Wild Curls Mascara - Boots (£2.99 & £6.29)

I popped into Boots to pick up my trusty cheap-fix mascara 17's Wild Curls, and yet again it didn't disappoint. It volumes and lengthening power are set to rival my DiorShow and MUF Smoky Lash, with many compliments on my lashes this week too i highly recommend. I also picked up this varnish in Exquisite, a deep dark green, definitely in the festive mode. With my two purchases i was able to pick up the 17 Femme Noir Set freebie that includes a wonderful red lipgloss, liquid eyeliner and a smokey grey eyeshadow.

I am officially in love with this Berry lipgloss, it is the perfect pigmented cherry red. I may not be able to work a red lipstick, but boy, do i love this lipgloss.

There are my recent purchases, i sneakily whisper that there were a few other things but really they deserve a post of their own due to being so wonderful and pretty. This week has been pretty manic, dinners with friends and working all week, but i was very lucky to be invited to a Forever 21 presentation (more to follow, but i'm amazed) and an Ebay event, where lets just say Sarah and i were very small fishes and a very big blogging pond (the W hotel) and yes, more to follow on that too.

Marc by Marc Jacob Rose Gold Ring - My Wardrobe (£40.00)

Major lusting after this beautiful heart charmed ring. On first appearances it looks rather bulky, but after closer inspection it is rather dainty and feminine. I adore rose gold, and of course Marc Jacobs. I somehow acquired a twenty pound gift card from My Wardrobe as part of a loyalty scheme when i purchased my Alexa, which would make this ring a worthy steal at twenty quid.

Should i splurge or put it on my christmas list and save my voucher for a rainy day (aka the sale)?

You will have to excuse my absence from the blogging world as on Tuesday night my Mac Book died a tragic death. After many tears (yes really) and flashes of coughing up nine hundred squid for a replacement, I nearly kissed Rick the Apple Genius Bar assistant when he said i needed to replace the battery. So whilst that's on speedy delivery I retreat the iPad, tar-rah.

No7 Pampering Dry Oil Spray - Boots (£8.75)

I hate those blasted No7 vouchers, i stand there for ages lingering over what to buy. Despite the fact i love the eyeshadow brushes, the staff are starting to give me funny looks i've bought so many. No really. After trying various dry oils in all these beauty boxes and falling in love with the Nuxe one (then swiftly falling out with the price) i decided to try the Pampering Dry Oil Spray with my £5 off No7 voucher, making it a rather steal worthy £3.75. I'm not going to lie, a) i didn't have the highest hopes with this product but then b) i am horrendously lazy when it comes to slathering on body lotion after the shower. Its flipping freezing and the quicker i get in my pjs the better, but the guilt of dry skin in the winter is rather pesky too.

However, after i swifty jump out of the shower and towel dry, a few quick spritzs of the dry oil spray, my skin is silky smooth. It sinks in instantly, which i find really rather impressive. It is neither sticky or leaves any residue on the skin either. A little also goes a very long way, i've been using it religiously for the past two/three weeks generously spraying everywhere and i've hardly dented the bottle. With the spray applicator its easy to spritz all over, even the troublesome patch on your back you can never reach. Its not heavy in the slightest and i can see this becoming a future staple in both sumer and winter. It has quite a distinct fragrance, which i rather like, but some may not. However, it doesn't last long on the skin, neither interrupting with perfumes or such.

Next time the vouchers are lurking in the pits of your handbags, i really recommend picking up a bottle. Especially for the girl who like me loves to feel pampered, in a rather lazy, easy way!

This post is horrendously overdue, considering my birthday was technically a few weeks back, but what the heck? I thought i'd share some of the shenanigans with you. For a fairly naff, boring age of twenty two i had a really amazing week of birthday celebrations..

I went 80's dancing with my nearest and dearest, which included lots of oversized cocktails, awful dance shapes and full on renditions of Grease and MJ's Thriller.

One Shoulder Wrap Dress - Topshop (£46.00)

The birthday outfit included this lovely berry dress from Topshop, it has very grecian edge with one shoulder and draped skirt. My wonderful YSL Tribute rip off heels from River Island lasted all of five minutes, in-fact they didn't even make it down Croydon high-street, such a wimp.

Then on my actual birthday i spent the day and night in Brighton with the boyfriend, it has such an amazing atmosphere, much more chilled out than London town. Not going to lie, i was equally determined to visit none other than Sea World (yep, i did turn twenty two, not seven). Boyfriend in tow we gazed at the array of colourful fish of all shapes and sizes, crabs of which i have a severe phobia of (shudder), starfish, sea horses and forget the sharks, there are turtles there the size of small cars.

After moseying on around the lanes and bracing the windy sea air one the pier, we checked in to the beautiful little boutique hotel called the Artist Residence, which is directly opposite the old pier. Each room in the tiny hotel is decorated by a local artist, it is also extremely affordable (dirt cheap) with breakfast in tow - i really couldn't recommend it enough.

We stayed in the Panorama room, decorated by local artist Andy Mclynn which has a amazingly detailed paintings of Brighton's sea front.

And, of course, there wouldn't be a birthday without gifts right?

What an obligatory blog post to write. For my non-blogger readers, this post is all centred around what's in my handbag, yeah slightly bizarre i'll give you that. But as much as i adore the art of the handbag, what i carry around it are some of my most prized processions and my most loved and used accessories.

My handbag of the moment is my dearly beloved Mulberry tan bayswater, my Alexa has taken residence in it's dust-bag whilst i use this baby. Not such a baby any more, as you can see it's aged with grace love over the three years i've lovingly battered it around every single day. I saved long and hard for this bag, then BOOM! out of nowhere every Tom, Dick and Harry has one. Ahem, trend setter anyone? I kid, i kid.

Marc by Marc Jacobs purse - This was my first 'big' purchase, just after i started college, i saved up all summer. My dad nearly had a heart attack when he found out, but 5/6 years later it hasn't aged a day.

Mulberry Purse - I bought this little dark brown purse in the Mulberry sample sale last year for quite a bargain. It holds all my pennies, as well as being the perfect small purse for clutches and small handbags.

Cath Kidston Train Pass - Never buy these full price (day light robbery), wait for their amazing sales. Picked this up for three quid, which currently holds a good three thousand old train tickets.

Zara Perfume in Iris - Cheap as chips, but smells to die for.

Moleskin Diary (with battered Mulberry sticker attached) - such a beautiful diary, the leather bound thick paper is every stationary dream and i quote the lady in the book shop when i say, once you go Moleskin you never go back.

This is - i must say - investigate journalism at best. Raw, emotive and digging out the true facts of the matter. For months, years even there have been rumours passed around back and forth, building excitement only to be squashed by the unknown. So it was time i felt, for Sarah and i to seek out what lay ahead and see the truth for ourselves. Last Wednesday, we battled it up the Northern Line to a dingy little shopping centre in north London to Edgeware, where we came across perhaps the best kept secret in perhaps, none other than the Topshop Outlet.

Our first thoughts when we approached this very small store dedicated to previous sale items was the sheer amount of stock. Each wall bay and stands are jam-packed full of last season stock at very low sale prices, with every item on the offer buy one, get one free. The stock we saw was mostly high summer, with the exception of pieces that are actually brand new (such as this dress) and items that have just hit the online sale last week. Everything is in size order, and naturally most items graced the floor. The ladies that work in their must have the patience of saints i tell thee. We saw numerous ladies filling up trollies worth of stock, to presumably be shoved on eBay. The other customers mostly looked like locals, unlike Sarah and i who were completely fazed by the whole time and dug right in. There were racks upon racks of tops, blouses, shorts, dresses and trousers; with a limited amount of accessories and shoes. Piled up with a variety of items, we hit the changing room to find a number of bits completely faulty, with zips missing and slashed holes, i guess this has happened at its previous store destination and has been shoved out anyway.

After grabbing most things in sight, i spied this dress on the changing room rail, had a slight heart attack and fell in love again. I say again, due to desperately wanting this dress over the summer and never buying it, yet finding it now half priced! Hurrah!

I then picked up this dress as my free item, a simple striped dress that can be worn in the summer.

Overall, although i am over the moon with my purchases, Sarah sadly left with nothing. Although this shop is clearly wonderful, i dare say it is fairly hit and miss. As its quite a fair journey, in norf norf London its would be a major disappointment to not find anything. However we have decided to visit after Christmas, when more seasonal, easier to wear items will hopefully have better stock. Watch this space.

The Topshop Outlet is situated in the The Broadwalk Shopping Centre just a stones throw from Edgware tube. We hopped on the Northern line from London Bridge and found it pretty easy to find. All the shop details can be found here.

Accessories Online is an online store that i'm all too fondly aware of, not only do i continously lust over their Alex Monroe section, even the boy ordered me this necklace last year for my birthday. So when i spotted on twitter that they were looking for guest reviewers, i hopped right over there like a right crazy woman. Then i panicked. If you know me well, you i'm horrendously picky when it comes to jewellery. I wear the same pieces everyday and never change it up to suit outfits and such. I prefer dainty bits and bobs, nothing statement, just nice and whimsical please. And i was not disappointed.

Dogeared Make a Wish Heart Bracelet - (£21.95)

Dogeared is a brand i've pondered over from afar, their jewellery is very to my taste. Its simple and classic, small and dainty mostly centred around different charms, with all different meanings - something i find rather appealing. The wish heart bracelet is rather different for me, but the red irish linen is something i really like. Not going to lie, i did go through a faze of wearing a red cotton bracelet, until someone one mentioned to me i'm not Madonna and did i study Kabbala, point taken. However this dainty little so and so looks amazing combined with my gold MJ watch, and i adore the little heart. Its not in your face, but rather whimsical with an eye catching red string.

The sentiment behind the bracelet is Make A Wish, whereby you make a wish before attaching the bracelet, and when it falls off the wish will come true. Nice sentiment, but really i was to excited to get it on my wrist to even think about a wish, and secondly at twenty squid, i don't want it to fall off either. Alas its a lovely present idea i presume.

The bracelet it's self is fastened by a bead through a hoop and wound round, but i knotted mine to make it extra secure. The website also states that the Irish Linen (posh cotton i dare say) should not get wet, due to fade and ageing, but i quite like that idea.

Overall i'm really happy with this bracelet, not only is it adorable (you must admit it) but i've really enjoyed wearing it. A nice feminine touch if you wear a rather heavy masculine watch like i. Over the last month or so i have been very busy planning a fashion show for work, don't get me wrong it nothing like LFW (although one particular model did throw a Naomi Campbell at some stages), but it was such a lovely event all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief. Where i work, i mostly serve old dears and grannies, and i hear simply amazing stories about various charities and how they have helped in such simple, but great measures. One of our models on the night, a rather glamourous Gloria aged 73, told me about she had run a marathon in aid of Breast Cancer relief the previous weekend - not only did this make me feel terribly unfit (seventy bloody three!) but i realised i'm seriously lacking when it comes to giving to charity, especially Breast Cancer relief.

Last weekend i made a cheeky Topshop order online, it being pay day and having a stolen student card (brothers are so, so useful) in hand, i took advantage and ordered. I received my birthday dress - soon to be seen, this jumper and another dress. The cream jumper was otherwise lovely but short and oversized in the wrong sense, insert sighing face, and the peter pan dress was just meh. I popped into my local branch to exchange them for:

I adore these pumps, they resemble a more expensive French Sole cousin, and yes, yes, yes slightly unpractical but too beautiful to resist, i promise to not wear on a rainy day.

This blouse is simply pretty, and not going to lie damn right handy. I have a knack of buying nothing that matches, and this little fellow can be mixed and matched any how, where or season.

I literally doubled blinked when i saw this blouse in New Look, its collar has the most beautiful scallop edge detail and the tie up bow is something i have been on the hunt for, since forever.

I love and leave you now for a few days as i am off to celebrate my birthday which falls on Monday, for a very boring age of twenty two i have succeeded in drawing out celebrations over an entire week - is that just me that does this? Hey, the queen gets the luxury of two birthdays. Tonight i'm going 80's dancing, then noodles with my girlfriends on Saturday night, followed by a nights stay in Brighton on my actual birthday with the boy. There i plan to over indulge in pier doughnuts, mushy peas, visit the aquarium and the palace, plus a little lane shopping! My dad is flying to New York on Sunday for a wedding (taking place on the actual Jersey shore - don't ask) and has announced bringing me back a special gift- oooh!

I'm sure you are all well aware of the passing of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, and i was sad to hear of such a great, great man dying to such a cruel disease. Not only did he change the way we speak, listen, play, communicate and view the world, he was an inspiration - of whom was completely selfless. I had always admired his work, which you may find rather odd, but i'm a self-confessed Apple nerd. I can remember my dad bringing home an Apple laptop when i was eight years old, it was of course completely bulky as hell and the screen looked rather something like this, but it was utterly amazing. I've been fortunate, through my dad being a graphic designer (and a complete utter nerd too), i have always had access to the world of Apple. Eagerly anticipating the next launch or system update, my dad even bribed his friend to fly to NY and bring back an iPad that hadn't even been launched in the UK.. i told you we were hard-core nerds. A few years on, with many updates, sleek designers, and faster running power, my nearly twenty-two year old self is tapping away on my slightly battered but beautiful Mac book writing to you. Here's to the next era of Apple. RIP Steve.

Liberty for Nike Dunks - at Office (£61.99)

I keep finding myself lusting over these Liberty for Nike trainers, when really i can't even remember the last time i wore a pair of trainers. But i can tell you now they were my much loved baby blue Nike dunks and i cherished them. Somewhat retro now, how 90's of me. These floral babies would get christened under 'random-but-i-still-really-really-need' list, along with this Strokes tee and this scratch off map. I caved in and released my inner nerd by finally treating myself to a Star Wars teeshirt. I definitely see no reason not to invest in a pair of pretty Nikes.. It may even inspire me to take up running - hah, who the feck am i kidding? ;)

And yes, the Star Wars tee does see the light of day, strictly on holiday. Do you have rather random lustings?

Frilly Cape Tea Dress - New Look (£17.99)

I adore this wine coloured tea dress, it's cape detailing is understatedly pretty. Very versatile for the unsual September sunshine, and hopefully with thick knitted tights when winter really sets in! I've done an horrendous amount of overtime recently, so it was lovely just spend the day in the garden sprawled out on a blanket reading and i'm now off out to a mexican dinner with the boy, yum!

In my last post i mentioned i had won tickets to London Fashion Weekend, not going to lie i was completely clueless to what the whole shebang entailed. From what i gather its a lead on even from LFW at Somerset House which is open to the public, apart from that i'm still oblivious to it's purpose to be frank - a big shopping event? It has a series of the same catwalk shows running throughout the day, and basically hundreds of stalls selling 'designer items.' Although i am thankful for winning the tickets, i'm also glad i didn't waste £16.50 to be hard-sold a number of brands i had never heard of. You also have to pay extra for a goody bag (which completely baffles me?) and repetitive catwalk show. Sarah and i literally spent less than an hour at the event, where we were mostly bombarded and harassed (especially by Burts Bee's - which saddens me quite a bit). The only designers we checked out were Olivia Rubin (great reductions but the awkward never sell pieces) and lots of overpriced jewellery stands that i would never look twice at the discount price. However, we did hotfoot it over to Alex Monroe which happened to be the highlight of the day!

Alex Monroe is one my favourite British jeweerlly designers, his designs are inspired by where he grew up in Sulfolk, the fields, nature and rivers surrounding him. Alex's designs are whimsical, dainty, awfully pretty and feminine. I was lucky enough to recieve a key pendant last year for my birthday, and ever since i have always enjoyed gazing over his latest collections. The stand at LFWeekend not only presented his latest collections, of which have completely fallen head of heels in love with this ring, but a reduced range.

Snow Drop Ring - Alex Monrow (£60.00)

This particular ring caught my eye, its very dainty with a twisted rope like gold plated band with a series of silver flower buds and a glittering stone. Its delicate, intricate design is what makes it so entirely unique. It also wears well on my left hand, as on my right i wear my cocktail ring, which is pretty much right up in your face, nice to meet you. I was more than happy to pay the reduced price, simply because his items are rather expensive and i imagine the initial selling price was almost double what i paid. An early birthday present to one's self, i really have to stop buying myself presents..

Nails Growing

I'm the first to admit it and i know its seriously horrendous, but i'm a nail biter. Dear lord, i've tried all sorts to combat it - but nada. Fowl tasting lotions & potions, i'm still a nibbler. But, when Models Own recently had their 50% off sale online (off which i completely missed as i tried to place it ten whole minutes after the deadline - pah), i felt sorry for myself and ordered Pink Fizz anyway. Three weeks later after repeatedly applying over Ciate's Guestlist, i have a full set of nicely grown, but neatly short nails - hurrah! Clearly long nails triumphed over having a right gob full of pink glitter, gross but true.

Birthday

As much as the thought of turning twenty two horrifies me (i swear i've only bee 21 ten minutes and really, what a boring age to be) i'm utterly excited at the prospect of a drawn out week of birthday celebrations. It's sad to think that this time last year i was off to Paris, but i've eagerly booked a mini-break (a night) in Brighton with the boy, basically so i can scoff those hot yummy doughnuts on the pier and scour the lanes for hidden shopping gems. Not forgetting a night of bad dancing, strong cocktails and 80's tunes with my close friends.

At the Jardon du Luxembourg last year - would love to get married here.

London Fashion Weekend

Some-how, some-where, theres an almightily fairy god mother dishing me out some serious luck. Just after winning a Kindle, i managed to nab some London Fashion Weekend tickets and a few goodies from Debenams from one of their beauty twitter comps! They do say, you can't win a competition if you don't enter, and i'm a serial competition enterer. But i'm pretty clueless to London Fashion Weekend, some one care to enlighten me? Any tips?

Being a Graduate

Currently i'm practically working full-time at my part-time retail job, i've found a few vacancies in PR and Publishing, but really, there's not much out there in the magazine world. I'm a firm believer in waiting for the right job to crop up rather that taking anything that swings your way. I'm perfectly happy plodding along serving my grannies till i see the right position.

Birthday

Did i mention i'm turning 22? Twenty Two? Before you know it you turn 23, then twenty-five when every one expects you to flounce up the alise, then flirty thirty when people eye up your womb expecting babies left right and centre, don't get me start on the middle-age hot flushes, then your retired and the only thing your life revolves around is WI and baking. Well if that isn't depressing, who knows what is.

Collarless Swing Coat - Tesco (£45.00)

Before i begin, let me just note that these snaps were taken in such haste due to the large quantity of builders sitting in the Tesco cafe having a good ponder at me as i whipped out my iPhone. Full English's aside, i LOVE this coat! Evoking my inner Kate Middleton, i've always, always lusted over a clean cut classic cream winter coat. The no-collar just screams 50's prim and proper, something a bit special. And where did i find one? Oh just ya know, stocking up groceries (sweets and magazines) in my local Tesco for a barginous £40, as a lovely sales assistant thrust a five pound off voucher in my face. Perfect.

I have a rather alarming stash of coats already, but really lets think rationally here. Let me put on my glasses. Lets coin the term Coat-Cost-Per-Wear. We live in bloody England, its always sodding raining and pouring. What keeps us going the winter months, apart from copious cups of tea and leaving our beloved pyjamas on the radiator, its a good winter coat. You practically wear it solidly right from October to February, so technically they become cheap as chips. God good, was that a long enough excuse? Just nod, and feel free to pass it off as your own.

Tesco currently have a promo running online, by entering AW-LFW to save £10 off £40 purchases. Which is i dare say rather tempting, especially with these TS look-a-like shift dress and black boots, which are in my eyes a steal at that price.

Have you decided what coat trend you'll be wearing this year? I'm still partial to my previous buys, including a pillar box red duffle and my endless faux fur fitted navy coats. This coral 60's coat by Warehouse is another sneaky purchase i'm planning, what a way to jazz up the morning commute.

After my last post about the obsessive nature of buying all things beautiful, i had many comments asking for more information on products and the way i store it all. It's really quite hard posting such things on the internet, knowing that there are trolls out there (mostly people i will never know or meet, and a few drifters from my real life) who will be quick to judge and harvester negative thoughts. If you fall in to that option, please kindly leave. As this blog serves as one purpose alone, to personally share what ever i fancy, i drift from posting between fashion, style and beauty - not being a regular beauty blogger. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to show my most loved products of which i use on a regular day-to-day basis and how i store it. Well enough ramble, lets get started.

The clear plastic storage i use is from a brand called Muji, they are moderately priced, not cheap as chips but neither breaking the bank. I strongly suggest ordering online, as lugging draws around the London Undergroud aint a bundle of fun i tell you. I chose the Two Draw Acrylic Set, which neatly stacks in place if you need to add more. They are ever so easy to clean and the main appeal for me, is that i can actually see my make-up. If i can't see it, i won't use it.

On top stands my brushes and a few random products. The small floral cup is actually a Cath Kidtson Sugar Pot and is currently home to my Mac small brushes that i was given to at Christmas. The white cut-out holder is from Paper Chase and holds a variety of brushes that i use on a daily basis, where as the politely borrowed Starbucks mug holds the rest of my brushes. The range of brushes i use are mainly ELF (amazing), Stigma (competition prize but rather good i dare say), No7 (with £5 voucher!s), Eco Tools (so soft!) and a few random strays. I stand by the mantra - the more brushes, the less often you had to wash.

The first drawer is one of my base drawers, it holds my bronzers and face powders. I swear by Nars Laguna and Chanel Bronze Universal bronzers - switching between the two; then mostly setting my foundation with L'Oreal Touch. The Mac MSF is far too heavy at the moment and the Mac Prep and Prime is for extra-long days.

The second drawer houses my main face drawer, i'm currently using Chanel Mat Lumier mixed with a spot of EL Double Wear Light as i'm still in-between shades from holiday. They mix amazingly well, but how pricey! I swear by my Mac Pro Long Wear for concealing in general and use the Mac Studio Fix for blemishes. My Laura Mercier eye brow pencil is bloody amazing, when i have the time and patience. The ELF eyeshadow primer beats Urban Decay eye primer right out of the water too in terms of price and quality.

For an eyeshadow virgin i have quite er a few. I have a few pallets by Benefit, Inglot, Urban Decay and Mac which i rotate often. But on a day to day basis i always rely on Nars duo Tzarine, it's champagne shadow for day wear is perfect and i strangely cannot find Mac dupe. With an added touch of Mac All that Glitters or Nars Nepal in the crease for when i really push the boat out. I always line with ELF's Coffee Gel liner and on nights out i religiously use Clinique True Black Gel Liner on my tight liner for its long-lasting powder and its true blackest black colour.

My favourite drawer! And my weakness. I clearly cannot have enough blusher and clearly Nars is amongst my favourite brand ever, especially so for their amazing shades and lasting power in their blushes. I have so many due to ASOS who kept sending me the wrong shades and told me to keep the wrong ones, oh snap! Sleek Rose Gold is the best high-street blusher i've come across and Jemma Kidd's 5th Avenue is a major favourite of mine.

Of course it didn't end there.. i have a few Mac blushes with the most notable mention being Pink Swoon, almost nearly finished (sob!) with a few strangers from other brands such as Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Bojouris and MUF.

This looks horrendous but really isn't. My Mac masacra's have long hit the dust but i'm keeping them safe and tight for Back to Mac. I would say i alternate between the rest but currently i'm using a beaten up L'Oreal Telescopic as my beloved others are really on their last legs. Notable mentions include 17's Wild Curls, Dior Show and MUF Smokey Lash.

My lip drawer has slightly increased since my Duty Free spree, but i have acquired mostly Mac basic play-it-safe shades such as Hue and Ever Hip, and my most prized Chanel Coco Rogue Shines. My most daring and playful shades being a bright pink Mac's Chatter Box and Revlon's Cherries in the Snow, a recent love of mine. Notable mentions being Revlon's Peach Petal lipgloss, 17's Beehive and Clarin's Pink Natural Lip Perfector, the tastiest toffee lip balm.

And finally my eye liner drawer, go which i've acquired from magazine freebies and from random pallets and sets. My ultimate liner being the L'Oreal Super Liner, hands down the easiest liquid liner to use. With ELFs Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils worth a quick mention too for their amazing quality for as little as £1.50 a pop. Theres also some random titbits mostly Clinique lip glosses i have received for free with sets and what nots, plus a few Lancome eyeshadow pallets that need more love and attention.

So there you have it, long winded but worth it?
